  • Development and application of micro- and nanotechnological sensor systems
  • Single-molecule sensing and analysis of biomolecular interactions
  • Electrochemical, optical, or microfluidic measurement technologies
  • Robotics, laboratory automation, and automated analytical workflows
  • Bioanalytical methods for drug discovery, cancer research, diagnostics, and biotechnology
  • Design, fabrication, testing, and data analysis of novel sensor and measurement platforms
You will become part of an interdisciplinary research environment and contribute to scientifically and technologically relevant projects with real application potential.

Your profile

We welcome applications from motivated students from fields such as:

  • Chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, physics, nanoscience, materials science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, process engineering, or related disciplines
  • Interest in experimental research, sensor technologies, analytical methods, automation, or bioanalytical applications
  • Curiosity, reliability, and willingness to learn new techniques
  • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary work between science, engineering, and technology
  • Prior laboratory, programming, electronics, microfabrication, or data-analysis experience is helpful, but not mandatory
The specific topic and scope of your thesis or internship will be defined together with you, based on your study program, interests, skills, and the currently available research opportunities.

Why us?

At KSI, you will work on current research questions in a modern, application-oriented institute with excellent technical infrastructure and close supervision by experienced scientists.

We offer:

  • Scientifically exciting and individually tailored thesis and internship projects
  • Access to modern laboratories and technologies in sensorics, microfabrication, bioanalytics, electrochemistry, automation, and instrumentation
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration between natural sciences, engineering, and life sciences
  • Hands-on experience with technologies relevant for diagnostics, biotechnology, drug discovery, environmental monitoring, and industrial sensing
  • A supportive team culture and the opportunity to contribute to innovative research with practical impact
We look forward to receiving your unsolicited application and learning more about your interests.
